Clip for Speedo Cable Release is Missing......What now?
84 Z28. Speedometer quit working.
It's hooked up find and dandy to the speedo drive in the tranny. I had to take the dash apart anyhow, so I went to remove cable from the back of the speedo and the little release clip was missing.
I tried prying with a screw driver, yanking with pliers.....but to no avail.

If the cable won't come out, the clip is there. If it was missing, the cable would simply fall out; the thing you push on is also the piece that retains the cable. If the cable is being retained, then you can be sure the clip is there, and you just haven't found it yet.

RB. I'll keep feeling around. had the speedo on and off several times before, and I know where the clip USED to be on my car.
