Would I see anything out of this cam?
This cam is out of a ZZ4 350.
Duration @ 0.050" Lift: 208/221 Lift: .474"/.510" Lobe Separation: 112 Type: Hydraulic roller tappet 5.7L HO 350
I dont know anything about this stuff, yet, and I wanted to know if this would benefit my 89 GTA 5.7 auto all stock. If this would not help out what kind of numbers should I be looking for? I need to be legal in CA.
Thanks,
Brian

yes. You probably wont get a SES light either, but most people will tell you that to take full advantage of the cam you should get a custom chip. On the conservative side, you'd probably get 20hp out of that cam compared to what you have in there now. Be ready to change valve springs and timing chain set with the cam.

Is there an easier way of changing cams without yanking the engine out? Does the front end come off enough to get one out and one in? Is $135 a good price for that cam or would I be better off to get another one? I have thought about a custom chip but I dont have the $$ right now to get all of the programing equipment. How much do custom chips usually run? And finally the last question, will there be a decent improvment in my exhuast sound? I have a 3" cat back on it right now as it is.
Thanks for all the help

You can do an in car cam change , not that bad, though the back and knees might hurt a little at times.
You have to take the radiator out, and bend the front support bars a tad, for the cam to slide out, of course among with everything else that needs to come off normally.
