well first is your car MAF or MAP/SpeedDensity?

If its MAf I would check the connections to the MAF and the other little sensor thing (forget right now what it is) in the air ducting. Make sure they are clean and secure...reset your ECM by disconnecting the battery or pulling the ECM fuse for a few minutes, try it out.

If its MAP, locate your MAP sensor (again memory fails me where its at on a 3rdgen) make sure its got good vacuum from the manifold, follow its vacuum line back, make sure its connected to the intake and in good shape, and also make sure its electrical connection is clean and tight. reset ECM, try it out

oh you mean like why did some idiot leave that oil can that says bosch blocking up my intake

hehe try those things i said and then if it still chunks a code at you, come back here do a search on MAF and Code 34, I am sure you will find a lot more about testing and trouble shooting a bad MAF...people don't like to buy em, those suckers are expensive.
