loss of low rpm torque...

k this might sound kinda silly and well i guess it is.. heres the prob.. i have a vac secondairys carb.... the secondairys use to open at 2300 and the car could litterly sit in one spot and melt the tires clean off it.. now the tach just holds nicely at 2400 and the tires dont even break free... the car doesnt seem to be making power at all until around 2800... to me it seems like the secondairys are just kicking in later.. what could cause this? im runnin out of ideas.. cant find any vaccum leaks.. nothin...any guesses would be appreciated

A sudden loss of low end torque performance could be a
broken torque converter stator sprag. It will still drive fine but will have a lazy launch.

It could also be your secondaries are opening up way to soon and too fast, or someother problem within that fuel circuit.....

thats the best quess i've heard.. and well basically i dont know **** about transmissions.. is this somethin that i could fix or would i need to simply replace the torque converter? i failed to mention before that for about a year this car has had a clicking sound coming from the torque converter area.. it would only make this sound with a load on it when the car was stopped.. it no longer makes this sound and has since lost all low end torque.. i know its not loose bolts to the converter or a crack in the flex plate and once you said that it all seemed to make sense... however i have no idea what it is that your refering to.. lol.. is it an internal part of the converter? somethin else? im pulling the engine back out pretty soon to give it an overhal anyway so swapping a torque converter or somethin wont be a big deal. i just need to know what to replace.. thanks for your help!
