4th gen rear in a 3rd gen
4th gen rear in a 3rd gen
Anyone have this setup on their firebird/camaro? I might do this and was curious if the rear wheels will stick out too far? If anyone has a pic of their car with a 4th gen rear axle and with the origional (3rd gen) wheels on it I would be interrested in seeing it.
Thanks

sticks out ~2'' on each side. You have to get adapters if you want to use the stock 3rd gen wheels. Ive seen pictures and 4th gen rear in 3rd gens doesnt look bad. You can get spacers for the front to make them stick out even with the rear.

I have a 4th gen rear on my GTA, you don't need spacers in the back to mount stock wheels (16X8) or (4th gen wheels from what I understand) The wheels stick out a little, like the edge of the tire is about 1/2" past the outer edge of the fender. I had some scraping on the sidewalls of the tires over certain bumps. With 245/45 16's I had no clearance issues(not smaller tires). Right now I have the same tire/wheels on my 91 firebird with a stock rear end and kind of miss the tires sticking out a little. Do a search on the appearance board for pics, also try for 17X11 wheels on a 4th gen rear, they stick out the same amount on the outside as stock wheels will.
