The mule needs help
I'm just getting the mule back together and am having several issues. First it has no acceleration, second that battery doesn't stay charged. Working with the first, my plugs are cool, the timing is set at 4 degrees, and fuel is set at 14 psi. Oh yea, i haven't recieved any codes yet. The motor is fairly fresh, the major change being that the new wiring harness moved the MAP and another vacumn sensor to inside the vehicle. Is there a chance that my reason for now power under load be atributed too an inoperative or pinched MAP sensor. I swear i have looked at every other possibility for this problem, spark, fuel, tranny and so on. She used too run good, now she boggs down and backfires a little when i stomp on the gas. Need Help

Right off the bat, you don't have enough timing. Also, when you set that timing, did you disconnect the brown est wire? If you set the timing without the bypass, you could be running 10 degrees off. As for the charging, check the alternator, make sure its hooked up right, check the wires and so forth etc...

Not enough timing? She was as high as 8 degrees but did not like to start with that. She has a stock TBI that has been shaved, MSD all the way and a Compucam 2020, and Headers without a Y-pipe or X-pipe. i do disconnect the brown wire while setting the timing. I'm going to to bump it back to 8 and try the starter fluid spray while driving and see if fuel delivery is my problem. Right now i'm making sure everything is hooked correctly. I feel like the computer does not have its hot all time wire hooked up. i think it resets everytime i turn it off because when i do get codes it will forget them when i try to retrieve them. Also, the two pin connector on the alternator, where does it go. I know the brown wire gets connected to the battery light with a power source and the pink is where i;m a bit confused. Should i connect it to a power source or just leave it alone. I have to jump it every time i want to start it and am getting tired of that. Thanks for your input Red Firebird. I will post back in a few hours.
