350 setups, gas milage, and 1/4 times
hey guys i have 1400 miles on my 350 and i built it a little to much for the street cause I can't afford the gas. now all I want is 13 secound car with a carb that gets pretty good gas milage. if u have any suggestions on my setup liek wut cam to use or anything let me know. also could u post your setups your times and what kinda gas milage u get. thanks so much
What are you calling pretty good mileage??? Your not going to get good mileage with a carb and run 13 sec. it just ain't going to happen. I get12-16 avg. 18-22 Hwy. with my injected 350 if I drive it REAL easy and run mid 12's with it. You should have kept the L03 if your poor, mine used to get 30-31 MPG on the hwy.

3.73s are NOT condusive to good mileage. I wouldn't go further than 3.42s if you ever want to venture out on the highway, unless you have a six speed tranny with .50 overdrive.
All your parts are nice choices, but you'll simply have to tone down on a few of them to get better mileage. A Comp XE262 cam would be easier on mileage, as would a simple Edelbrock Performer intake and aa well tuned QJet. See the site's Tech Articles for a good how-to on the QJet.
