Which Tires to get?

Yay, I get my paycheck friday, and I am going to get some new tires.

I'll probably get some Z rated Falcons. I'm not gonna step up the the Potenzas or the Toyos, but will the Falcons be okay? I found a good deal for $427 installed for all four. I was also thinking about getting Bridgestone Daytons, but I was curious to know what your running, and if the Falcons will be ok. Im leaning towards around $100 per tire. Thanks guys. Happy New Year.

I have the kumho 712's, and they are the SH*T. I love them. They kick @ss, even in wet weather.

Dunlop SP Sports. Work real well in the rain or dry. Great price and Dunlop makes their tires a little wider than the competition which is a definitely bonus.

I have the Dunlop SP 5000 on my '92 RS. I am very happy with them. However, they are a little more expensive than the Falken. I think I paid $125/tire for the 245/50/16's.

Alright finally. Enough procrastinating!

Ya, I got my tires today due to the effect that my Potenzas were down to the wear bar, and I woulda been dead soon. I didn't want to spend like $165 each on new Potenzas, so I bought some Z rated Falkens. Immediate difference in handling and ride. The car even feels higher off the ground. I paid $435 installed, which was much better than $550 that Winston wanted to charge me! I mean, its rubber afterall.

I purchased the 245-50-16 sized tire. Overall, very nice. I think I came out good payin $435. If you haven't had the priviledge of buying new tires for your thirdgen, you will.

At any rate, thanks for the info guys. By the way, I have a 1991 RS, and did you know you cant get those tires off without a special lugnut adapter to get the lugnuts off? The guy said its for theft prevention. Who would have thought GM was lookin out for our tires!? .

Anyway.

Sure you can get the lugnuts off. All you have to do is get a socket that is too small and pound it on over the lug, then you simply back it off. That is not only 91's, my 84 had it on my iroc rims that it had on it. They wanted to charge me 50 bucks to cut them off. I told them I would do it myself, they kinda gave me a strange look, but when they saw me pound a socket on them and twist them off they were very surprised.
Anyway.

Use the special lugnut key if its still in the car. You would have been a happy camper on the road with a flat.
