I can't find rubber gaskets to fit my valve covers, I got some Felpro's from Autozone (blue rubber) and they are to small. I gave them the part# VS12869R and the one's they had were the same size as the first set I got but they did not look like they were made of rubber, they were black and kinda hard, the first one's I got were thick blue rubber. I also have some that I ordered from Jeg's but they are cork with the steel in the middle (I ordered the wrong gaskets) but they are the right size The gaskets from Jeg's that fit say on the package "Chevrolet V8 small block Vortec 1986-97 " the part # is 1648. I know my engine does not have Vortec heads so why are these the only gaskets that fit?

 

you have to stretch them into the grooves.

 

The blue gaskets will stetch to fit , so I will use those.

 

I was the same way you are when I first saw them.
I thought the parts store monkey gave me the wrong ones.
