ECM on an 82?

ECM on an 82?

I was wondering if I have an ECM on my 82 Trans Am. I thought they werent around then. But I have an oxygen sensor on my manifold. So whats it going to then.

Yes they are computer controlled, with an ECM.

I'm guessing you have an old '864 or '156 ECM. Pretty limited, but gets the job done for an E4ME carbed engine just fine.
