LT1 starter on an L98?
LT1 starter on an L98?
N00bie question - I'm looking to get rid of my heat-soaking starter problem, and I've heard that the LT1 mini-starter will fix it. So, will the LT1 mini-starter bolt up directly on a automatic 350TPI L98? And if so, which LT1 starter should I use ('94, '95, '96)?
Also, I did some searching on this forum and I noticed some postings about a CVR mini-starter. Again I have the same questions: does it bolt up directly and how much is one?

Yeah, I noticed that. I called up a couple local stores and the average price is about $160. I guess it's worth it though ... no more sitting around in the parking lot waiting for the solenoid to cool off.

I got a high torque mini starter from www.tommyjohnsonjr.com/bs for my car for 127.90 shipped. Have had no problems with it.

i bought a rebuilt one from a local speed shop for 60 bucks, had it for 2 years now works great and fits with my headers
I love those starters. Got one on my ZZ4 and it works fantastic!
ZZ4's use the later style Vortec engine block which is highly similar to an LT1 (save for the reverse flow coolant passages). I'm certain it should fit.
