Car stumbles at high RPMs

Ok here is the deal, my car was running strong (relative term here (305TBI) ) until yesterday, when i went WOT at about 3500rpm the car stumbled a couple of times, and then fell flat on its face. it seems fairly responsive until the revs go about 3500. if you guys could give me some ideas of things to check. the car has a new fuel filter, and the plugs looked good (2 weeks ago).

i am going to go pull a couple of plugs this afternoon. and check the plug wires. anything else i should look for?

ohh yeah 90RS 305TBI.

Almost sounds like a fuel pump. Throw that on the check list.

Did you mess with the timing? See what kind of timing reading your getting at 3500.

I'm thinking low volume of fuel due to the fuel pump going south.

Yup, sounds like fuel delivery.

Just out of curiosity, why did you change the fuel filter? What did you find when you did it?

You said you changed the fuel filter right. Are you sure you got the flow direction right. Should have an arrow of which way the fuel should flow through it.
