new intake manifold
Ok i ahve a 305 tbi LO3..
At home i have this awsome holly street dominator intake manifold ment for a carb. I think the manifold does not have the plate in the middle of where the gas goes into..just i big hole..
Question.. should i put this intake on with a tbi adaptor plate?
What horsepower gains/losses would my car have with everything else stock.
will the dinky cam handel such a manifold or will it make my car worse?
if there is potential for ANY gains in horsepower.. i'm going to install it very very soon
Also will my gas milage be afected?
thanx guys

That sounds like the old single plane Street Dominator, the one that doesn't have the mysterious runner linking two of the cylinders together. I ran one on a 262 in my old Monza and it worked quite well.
I think you stand to gain a bit of horsepower using this intake 'cause the increased plenum volume over the OEM intake could help to offset the small throttles of the TBI unit. You don't know until you try. I would bet that it would work for you.
It worked on the 262 and that wasn't a ground-pounding engine in anyone's books.
Don't expect 35 bonus horsepower or anything from it, and be sure to check that the TBI-to-carb adapter doesn't raise your TBI unit excessively (into the hood!).
Keep us posted if you do try it.

actually i have a 3 inch cowl so even if my adapter plate is big it sohould get in the way but i'll make sure its not that big..
What about the gas milage? do you think i'll have to change my feul air ratio or anything like that?

Seriously, I don't think it would be a problem. The intake was designed for the street RPM range and develops good torque for a single plane. You may want to play with fuel pressure and timing after you've run it for a while, but I really think it would work well under a TBI.
