how are these heads?
i am building a tpi 350, and have a set of GM heads with the casting #462624 i now they are 74cc heads, but i haven't measuered the vavles yet to see which size they are, does any one know how these would hold up with a little work, and if they would flow ok?
I looked them up on www.mortec.com and it said:
462624.....75-86...350/400......76cc chamber, 1.72/1.5, 1.94/1.5 or 2.02/1.6 valves
I dont know anything about these heads, but it appears that they could have anywhere from real sucky valve sizes to good valve sizes.

They suck, no matter what valve sizes are in them. They are smog heads from the 70s of the worst sort. They came on those magnificent 170 HP 350s and 180 HP 400s.
Please smash them to bits and bury the pieces in moist salty soil or have them melted down, as soon as possible, to help erase their disgrace from the collective memory.

i have those heads on my engine, which came out of an 82 truck. yes, truck heads. go find a chain, attach one end to your boat, and the other engine to one of those heads. congratulations, you own a pair of boat anchors
