Well let getting the tach out wasn't that hard in mine.I just took of the plastic peice that goes over the clear plastic.Took the clear plastic off and a couple more screws holding the tach to the white peice.

Now getting the white piece out was the real pain!

No there shouldn't be a trick to it.I mean it is screwed in there.Just make sure you have all the screw out and it will come right off.

If its like my 91 rs, you have to remove the part of the dash right under the steering wheel. that will let you get to the screws that hold the plastic part that is over the gauges and steering wheel. remove that piece, and then there should be 2 screws on the top of the gauge cluster and 2 screws on the bottom of the cluster. remove them and the gauges should just slip right out(mine did) my rs didnt have any cables going to the gauges so I doubt your z would eather, which makes getting our gauges in and out eazy.

BTW all the bulbs for the cluster can be changed from the back of the gauges and if I remember right they are all 194

you have to remove the "knee pad" under the dash so you can take out those 7MM screws (2 on each side of the column). The rest of that trim piece is just "snapped" in, so it'll pop off easily enough without breaking it. you'll need to disconnect your cig lighter, fog light switch, and pull the pull **** for the headlights out. that will get the trim piece out of the way. there's a few screws (7MM) around the "lense cover" that need to come out to remove that. the ones at the top are kinda hidden. once you get that off, there's a few screws to remove the actual dash cluster, the whole thing will come out - no cables, wires, or anything. there are 4 bulbs on the back for your gauge lighting. they are integrated into a socket, they come that way. now is a good time to change the color if you want. you can get colored bulbs from somewhere, got mine from a trac auto store. the sockets can be had by themselves, too, at an auto zone, probably a couple of other places. or you can just get the replacement integrated ones. not that hard, just don't drop those hard to get to screws...
