Car is jerking

Okay, I have a question for you smart guys cuz im a moron... ok if when im driving i increase my speed slowly, when i get to about 38-40 my car will start to jerk back and forth, but then when i get past that point it will ride smooth again... also if i floor it from like 25 to 50 its smooth, no jerking around 38-40... I just had the EGR valve replaced because it was busted... and before that part busted it ran smoothly at any speed... but now that I replaced that it jerks only at that speed... if someone could give me any time of clue that would be great... thanx in advanced

steve

About 41 MPH is the point that the TCC will lock up. You might also be feeling the EGR valve openeing at that point. Watch the tachometer when the "jerking" occurs.

Mine did that and I had to basically keep the car in 5th to go anywhere. I believe mine was the o2 sensor. Don't quote me just check it out.

I may be wrong but i am assuming that your car has a Mapp Sensor being that it is a 91. I had a friend with the same problem we replaced it and all was well They are about $25.00 at your local parts store. It should be located on the passenger side firewall.
