Track Inspection
Just wanted to know what some of the thing are that inspect before you run your car on the track(tires, leaks, etc.)?
if it's a street car there isn't much if anything they'll check, secure battery, no hub caps, over flow tank, and missing lug nuts or broken studs. if it's a race car get a rule book because there are a boat load of rules

Neutral safety switch. General safety condition.
Some tracks require a helmet regardless of time/speed. More common is quicker than 14.0.

My track hasn't checked anything. I had a broken rear stud when I ran once and he said nothing about that, he just yelled at me for wearing short sleeves.
when i went to englishtown they just signed my tehc card and let me in. maybe becuz it was my first time but i dunno. also at e-town they require u to wear a helmet, no matter what the hell u run.
edit: thats weird u got yelled at for wearing short sleeves. i worn my short sleeve shirts when i ran my 2 runs and wasnt told anything. all u need to wear is a shirt (no sleeveless), pants (no shorts) and shoes ( no slippers and no sandels) or boots.

Well I ran my car today. Didn't have any problem passing tech. It ran 17.35 @ 78.33 mph. That was the best out of six. Never got out of second gear. All stock except for the muffler.

You noticed that too Vader? I thought I was just seeing things. At least they extended the sand trap at the end. That gives us a better chance at stopping before we hit the trees or the nuclear cooling towers.
Byron has the same clothing restrictions. I didn't know the first time I went. They let me race in shorts but told me it had to be pants from then on. 90 deg plus humidity and pants would be like walking around in a sauna.

You launch, drive down the hill, then finish up the hill. Makes me wonder who got paid how much to even get the track sanctioned. 1/8th mile times can't be right. Trap speeds have to be wrong, too.

Haven't been to UG yet but I heard it's better yet more expensive. I'll probably go up there at least once this season. UG is also called Great Lakes Dragway isn't it?
Gotta hit Route 66 this season too.

The track I race at requiers short sleveless shirts and all the add on's when you hit 13's but time only racers get a big break as long as the car passes tech. Just make sure there isnt any cracks or large rock chips in the windshield they can get picky over the slighest thing.

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
Throttle return springs (dual), neutral safety switch...
They are real picky at my track; you need a helmet, regardless of time; they'll check the brake pedal for feel, front end for worn steering parts, remove hubcaps and wheel centers, leaks of any kind, battery must be secured, no cracked glass...
And I just found out they jacked the rates up another $10
