more horsepower from the LB9
can anybody give me any advise on how to get more horsepower from my 5.0L/305 TPI motor (rpo LB9)? it seems i got the worst engine/trans combo for my GTA because it makes an embarassing...190 horsepower
.
this will NOT due for me. i need speed! so far i've upgraded the exhaust with a walker dynomax system, i just bought a K&N air filter, i know i'll be buying another throttle body (bigger this time) to replace my original that has been sticking ever since i got it. i suspect that she's making at or alittle bit above 200 hp (i hope). those are my thoughts right now. headers, sub-frame connectors and MSD 8.5 super conductor wires will be coming as well. i'm just trying to get the basics down first before i get to the big stuff. As always, i appreciate everyone's comments.

You are wasting money on 93 octane gas.
Follow the parts in my sig, they'll wake up your 305. But use a GM LT1 roller cam. With a good port and polish on the heads (follow link at end of my sig) you'll be pushing 300 hp.
PS There are worse 305s; the LG4 (145 hp) and the LO3 (170 hp).
