Can i check MAF for proper function?

The subject says it all. Ive got a code 33 and 36 which both lead me back to the MAF. Ive checked the relay and its good. Its an 86 LB9. Is there any way i can check to see if my MAF is working correctly or should i just go out and buy a new one?

Holmes,

Yes, you can test the analog output voltage of the MAF to see if it is responding at all. Connect a DVM to the 'B' and 'C' terminals at the MAF connector while it is still plugged into the MAF. Start the engine and allow it to idle normally. You should be reading about 0.075VDC or so. As the throttle opening is increased, MAF output should increase accordingly.
