is 40 over too much for a 1990 4 bolt block?

subject says it all, i was told that you cant go more then 30 over on a post 76 block due to the metal content of the blocks, i have a 4 bolt block that is already 40 over and its a bare block would this need to be sleaved or can i just use regular 40 over pistons? what sort of problems would i run into, would it be likely that i would have overheating problems or warpage? any info would be appreciated

If your worried have the block sonic checked, to measure the wall thickness. Your machinist will tell you if its good or not.
