I didn't even know that Pro Topline made a Vortec version of thier heads. You could check out thier website www.protopline.com and see if they list the info.

Sorry I can't answer your q, but I have one for you.

What do you mean by "radiusing"? Are you talking about the usual 3 angle valve job, or do you mean like totally radiused, smooth valve seats and valves? How much $$ was that?

"radiusing" usually means cutting the seats or valves. Now whether or not he radiused them with 3 angles or totally smoothed them out I'm not sure.

Assuming the Protoplines use the same plug type as factory
plugs try Champion RS12YC Works for me...

RS9YC for street strip NOS motors.

I use a Felpro 1255 intake gasket, normal felpro .039"
head gasket and Mr gasket 1.5" round header gaskets.

There are multi angle radiius valve seat cutters that create a radius cut angle below the valve seat. Flows more.

Would be interesting to get a flowbench test before you install them to see how they stack up to the factory and Edelbrock
stuff.

I also purchased these heads from a place on ebay called alexparts. For 700 I got the heads already machined for dual valve springs, dual valve springs, screw in rocker studs, shims, positive seals, chromoly retainers, manely undercut valves. I cleaned up some flash and mildly polished the exhaust and intake runners. The protopline heads seam like the way to go if you are thinking vortec. They have all the mods already doen for about 200 less than a competent machine shop would charge to modify the stock GM castings.

Go to ebay and type in Vortec heads. Then look for a vendor called Alexparts. This guy is excellent. Drop him an email and he will get right back to you. He does not mind answering questions. The equipment he sets you up with is top notch and he does not mind answering tech question while you assemble and install the heads.

It was done on a 350, but I thought they used the GM Vortecs, not the aftermarket ones.
