Valve train..
I have a few questions about valve seals, locks, and retainers. Should you always by what the cam manufacture recommends? I ask because the heads I am looking at give suggested assembly components that are different form what the cam manufacture gives.
For example, head manufacture recommends 7 degree retainers; cam manufacture recommends 10 degree retainers.
Also what determines how long of a pushrod you need?
Thanks

You can use whichever you want as long as the locks and retainers match & fit the valves and springs.
You have to use a pushrod length checker to see how far off the stock length is once assembled.
