i can get a cheap 305 tpi engine to replace my higmileage 305 in my 86 im going to be selling the tpi set up off it and put the motor in with a performer intake and im looking into swapping out the stock (roller ) cam and putting in a (hydraulic)matching performer cam from edelbrock. i know most of you will say dont bother putting another 305 in but this is my daily driver and im not looking for anyhting crazy from the car just a lil mall ***** then it came with. where can i get pushrods for this setup?im not looking to spend alot of money to put anotehr roller cam in even though i know roller is a better setup its also more expensive. thanks

By the time you buy cam, lifters, & push rods, you won't have saved much compared to the cost of not downgrading your car.... maybe $50 tops.
I'd strongly urge you to keep the roller setup, it will pay for itself in a couple of months of driving.
Get a Comp XR258 or XR264.
