STP gas treatment is great. Are you sure your timing is set properly?

If your timing is too advanced it'll do that, what's the degrees?

Ok, well, if it's dieseling don't advance the timing, try delaying it by 2-3 degrees instead. As of the carb, it shouldn't cause it unless it's running too rich. Adjust the timing first and then once you have that ok, adjust your idle mixtures to the highest rpm and smoothness. It takes a little time but it's worth the try. I hope this works man.

Just because the motor diesels ( aka run on ) doesn't mean it's shot.

The biggest things that seem to cause this are

1. Over advanced engine timing.... set the timing back to stock specs and see if the problem continues.

2. High idle - Seems to happen more with carbed cars...a high idle will cause the engine to keep running after cut off as well...

As for additives...there is NO cure all additive, and "info" mercial's are usually the exact opposite of that...

For a good all around fuel / engine cleaner, go pick up a can of SeaFoam at NAPA...I swear by this stuff.

Cleans carbon, and fuel system like nothing else I've used...but AGAIN, it won't cure a problem such as over advnance timing.
