3.48" stroke, 4.000" bore, 349.85 cu in.... not too much else to say....
What do you want to know? Get a head casting number, that'll tell you if those are worth anything (they might be - some of those came with double-humps with bolt holes); other than that, there's absolutely nothing special, either good or bad, about it.
These heads came off a 69 or 70 350, maybe they'll be on that one.

Rockin, the only way to see if it has big valves is to pop the head off and look. But being its in a Impala you can almost count on 1.94's...if a lower output motor you might even see 1.72's

One book that I have sez the 4bbl pass car motors put out 300 ponies, that's probably what it is if it's a 4 bolt. I fergit what the TQ is, mebbe 330 or 340. Probably 1.94/1.50 too... regular ol' car motor from '70, they like lead in their gas.

Well i was kinda wondering what kind of HP and TQ #'s it makes
It's a 350, and it's in stock trim. They changed the HP rating system shortly after that; the HP numbers that it was "rated" at are totally meaningless.
Most 69 & 70 350s were 2-bolt, just like other years. Ones in trucks were 4-bolt. Ones in virtually all cars, including Camaros and Vettes, were 2-bolt.
It came with a 929 cam {insert gagging sounds here} which is a complete POS.
I'd bet the odds are above 99.9% that it has 1.94"/1.5" valves.
Keep in mind, it's a 30 year old motor, it's either been rebuilt, or is going to need a rebuild before you drop it into your car. Any of the above will change its power output compared to when it was new. What the factory "rated" it at has no bearing on what it's actually putting out now.
Get the head casting numbers. That's the only thing that has any chance of being even remotely near special in any way. Other than the possibility of them being the ones in that pic, everything else about that motor is just plain, common, ordinary, run-of-the-mill 350 stuff. And even those heads, while among the best junkyard heads for upgrading for performance use, are not particularly great as they come off of an old car; they require so much work to upgrade them, that with aftermarket heads as cheap as they are nowadays, it's easy to buy better ones for very little more money than hopping those old ones up.
If it has the double-hump heads, it had about 10¼:1 compression when new.
Oh, in case I forgot to mention it - we need the head casting numbers to know what it really is. All else is a bunch of speculation and guessing and BS and monkey-spank.

And you're going on the assumption that the "350" in the Impala is the ORIGINAL engine
Sorry...had to. Most cars that old, that are still running at all, have had engines replaced. Unless it was garaged, or it's been sitting for long time.
Like mentioned, 4-bolt is hit or miss, even in '70. And for anything under 500 HP, it doesn't mean jack, a 2-bolt is fine. It's all in the block prep, good machine work, getting it magged etc.
Unless you're getting it REALLY CHEAP ( like FREE ) it's usually a better idea to look for a running TPI core 350...I see them all the time for $300-750.

My friend had a 71 Chevy half ton with a 350 4bbl in it and it had 185000 miles on the original motor and it still ran really good. After he took it off the road it could sit for 2 months and still start right up on the first crank.

If this motor is the original motor it is very desireable.
It would be a 350/300 hp 4bbl with 10:1 compression
high performance "186" late camel back heads but with small valves.
It may or may not be a 4 bolt .
it has the standard "929" bread and butter hyd cam.
194/202@.050" .390/.410" 112
Pull the valve covers off and find the head casting numbers.
If the last 3 numbers are 186,414,492,370 or 292
You have a good motor to use as a basis for a strong 350 buildup.

Thanks for all of your help. I will give be posting some head/block numbers up as soon as i get the engine. I am practically getting it for free. All i have to do is pull the 350 out and put a 283 in its place and i get to keep the 350. It still runs really strong. It came out of a 70 impala that had 87,000 miles then was wrecked. A friend of mine then bought it and put it in his 70' cheyv pickup and hardly ever drove it, now he is gettin a rebuilt 283 for his truck and has no use for the 350. Talk to you guys soon,
Thanks

If it's the double-humps (BTW those on that 400 block in that pic are 186 castings, off a 69 Impala) then you'll have the raw materials of a good motor. If they've been changed..... who knows.
Post the casting numbers as soon as you can.
