Thumping Noise

Thumping Noise

Well guys i was on the way home from the g/f house and drove about 20 miles so the tranny was warmed up. And when i put it in reverse and hold the brake i hear a thumping noise. Once i let off the brake its fine and goes in reverse ok its onyl when i hit the brake. Also i turned the well once when turing sharply to the right and i heard the noise again its just a low thumping. Whats up? Help polease

Axle/Gears: Strange 12 Bolt, 3.42
Theres lots of things that could cause a noise like that but the first thing I would check is the transmission mount. If its cracked or broken it will cause a thumping noise.

Good advice. And while you're under there, check out the torque arm mountings too.
