Take off the cover and look.
The first thing you should always do with a rear end you just got is change the fluid. While you're doing that, make a point of looking at the gears.

Let us know... you might have just scored possibly the best rear end you can get for one of these cars, a 9-bolt 3.45 with PBR brakes. That would be cool.

PBR is the company that made them... they'll be aluminum calipers with cooling fins, not cast iron like the older rears (Saginaw calipers - yuck)
Count the cover bolts; 9 = 9-bolt, 10 = 10-bolt. Look at the gears; they may have the tooth count stamped in the edge of the ring (most do), it might say something like 12:41 which would be 3.42; or 11:36 which would be 3.27, etc.

Almost...
Actually, it's 3.0769, or 3.08.
There's 2 3.08 combinations; that one, and 37:12, which is 3.0833.
Not a very desirable gear at all. And worst of all, a 2-series carrier.
Still, for $200 Canadian (what is that, about $3.69 US?) it's not a bad deal, if it works.
Is it a 9-bolt, or a 10-bolt? Disc or drum? If disc, aluminum calipers or iron?
