¿final post about my car shaking?
narrowed shaking down to 2 things: either dampener, or rear u-joint.
The vibration remains when the clutch pedal is depressed, leading me to conclude the vibration is not in the driveline, but in in the engine. (dampener)
Q) What sort of affect do you guys think this "out of balance" vibration is having on my performance?
- would the bad balancer cause power loss only during vibration, or all the time?
btw- vibration is enough to shake entire dash & console
Thanks

A failed or incorrect balancer will have more of an effect on engine life than performance. Shearign th eoil film in main bearings is not a good way to extend the service life of your engine. Breaking a crank doesn't help, either.

Do you think I am right about it being the balancer? I would hate to drop another $60+ and a saturday and not correct my problem.
Thanks for the warning about bearings and crank, I really don't want to get into the bottom end of this lg4, so I will address this ASAP.
Thanks again
