what starter to use with slp headers and kick out pan?

Hi,

I have SLP 3/4" headers and a Canton Kick out RR oil pan.

I can not find a starter which will fit. Can anyone out there
with this combo recommend a starter motor.

I have tried the CVR protourqe, which must have the motor
clocked down which contacts the Y-pipe.

I have tried the powermaster 9000, which can't have the solinoid
clocked down because it hits the oil pan and when clocked up it
is so tight between header and block i can not fit a heat shield
and get heat soak.

Please help, I'm tired of buying starters.

If an adjustable ministarter like this CSI won't work, then you
simply have to switch to a different pan.

Go back to the powermaster and try a remote solinoid.

Morley,

I asked the powermaster tech line about a remote
solenoid. They seemed to think it wouldnt help. Something
about the attatched solenoid still be involved. I didnt fully
understand the explanation.

Have you successfully used a remote to solve this type of problem? If so I'll give it a try.

No, I've never run into a clearance problem like that one. I don't see why it wouldn't work though, it should eliminate the need for a starter mounted solinoid, unless I'm missing something.

The starter simply cannot engage the flexplate without a solenoid.
You're thinking of a remote relay to cause the solenoid to engage.
No it won't help.

With the adjustable starters you can move the solenoid to different positions.
