Smoke from one side of exhaust on true duals

Well, I just got my motor going recently. Specs in sig. Anyway, When I started it up this time. I noticed that there was smoke coming out of the drivers side exhaust. It is true duals so it was actually coming from that side of the engine. It would smoke for 2 or 3 seconds and stop for a few seconds then it would do it again. I think I may need to reset my valve lash. Could this be what is causing this? It was either white or blue. I couldnt tell, but it looked white. I havent ever really been able to tell the smoke was blue when I had bad valve seals either so I guess that doesnt say much, but it wasnt black. Anyway, what could be the problem. Do you think its my valve lash? Please help.

It's not your valve lash. Make sure what kind of smoke it is first. ALways run the motor on the street for a while before you freak over exhaust smoke. Oil is everywhere on new parts and sometimes it takes some driving to burn it all off. Ditto, some pockets of moisture.

Thats good I guess. How can I tell exactly what kind of smoke it is? I held a white napkin behind the exhaust while it was smoking and it didnt seem to get anything on it that you could see. Under the exhaust it had a puddle. It may have been slightly oily but felt mostly watery.

Also, I havent hooked up the pcv valve yet. Could this have something to do with it. All the vacuum sources are pluged that are not being used, but I wondered what exactly functions the pcv provides.

Oil smoke won't condense and puddle up again like water will. It just dissipates and floats away.

a pvc or positive crankcase vaccum system provides crankcase ventillation. Basically what it does is sucks air through the crank case and out the other side and removes air stream contaminantes such as blow by gases and such, without one after time you will notice a significant amount of buildup forming on various internal parts

Well, I have run it a couple more times and it doesnt seem to smoke anymore so I think it must have been some oil on some parts or something.
