i really need your guys help on this one, i got pulled over 3
times last night because my front lights. k well when i turn on my head lights the passanger side light comes on but not as bright as it should be and the driverside is really really low, can barley see it (like a faint red colour). now if i put it on highbeam the passanger light goes out and the drivers side goes on highbeam. also while i have the lights on high beam or not
the little blue high beam light between the signals is always on. what should i do???

loose ground
corroded wires (most likely the cause as ALL firebirds have them almost broken). Pull the connector off the headlight and check those wires
but since it's acting so weird it could be a wireing issue as well where something is shorting out , but who knows.
I would look around and in the worst case I Think there's a tech article on this board on how to make your own headlight harness , taht might solve your problem.

Hmmm, weird. You must look like that space ship from Close Encounters coming down the road
. Do you have all the right bulbs in there? After we painted my car and the shop reassembled everything, I had some crazy stuff going on with my brake lights. Dim, bright, on, off...never had a problem before, either. It turned out that all it was was the wrong brake light bulb put in during reassembly. Once we pulled it and put the right one back in, everything was fine again.

I had the same problem, dim lights and the high beam light on in the dashboard. It wasn't on a firebird, but the wiring harness had heated up and melted creating a condition where the low and high beam wires were touching dimming the lights and making the high beam light go on on the dash. Hope this helps.
sounds like a bad ground or shorted damaged wiring. Check for a ground first. Connect a clip lead to the black wire on the headlight socket and ground it. If that helps you have a bad ground. has anybody screwed with the lights lately. It also sounds like the wires are mixed up in the sockets.

Yeah...I had the same problem last year...YES...check all the grounds, but mine ended up being a shorted bulb in the instrument cluster. Could also be the headlamp switch itself. Test it with a good one...if you need one I have one I could send you to test... The cluster comes out FAIRLY easily...once you get the hange of it...I have mine out 20 times at least...could do it in minutes...
Real PIA diag'n these types of problems...
