Clicking Noise

Ihave a 305 TBI and i noticed a while back that my engine was clicking,it clicks more when you give it gas and is really noticable when im driving next to someone. I tried listening to the engine while it was parked and i disconnectd the belt, and the noise seems to be coming from the upper part of the engine,th egine has almost 2000 miles, so its still new. Is this noise the rockers? do they need to be adjusted? or is the noise just a break in noise or something? please help, the noise is really irritating.

could be a valve that needs to be adjusted or an exhaust, make sure all the bolts on your headers/manifolds are tight and the gaskets are ok.. try taking a piece of rubber fuel line or a wooden handled screw driver and put it to the valve cover or header/manifold and try to listen to where the noise is coming from
