Chip for 84 LG4

I swapped a 350 in and was wondering if there was a chip I could get that might help performance. ANybody have an idea?

You could try to see if GM sells their 350HO conversion chip seperately, doubt it but maybe worth it, or any off the shelf aftermarkets (ie: Hypertech, Jet, etc ...). Also, with the carbed 3rd gens, the only thing the chip adjusts is the advance timing, M/C solenoid, spark retard and 4th gear lock up. Assuming you are using the OEM carb and dist., otherwise don't waste your money. HTH

I am using all the factory equipment. The reason I ask is because I can't seem to get any top end power. The best I can get in the 1/4 is a 15.3. I have all the bolt-ons and it doesn't help.

Your 1/4 mi times can be because a few things (wheel spin, reaction times, overall car weight, gear ratio, GM Goodwrench 350...) and may not be anything a chip would solve. I would say thatif you are using a carb, then don't bother with a chip. If you really need one, I have a Hypertech chip I can sell, but you need a knock sensor or else you will pull a code after 2 minutes or your engine temp reaches 100C. That's why I don't use it and I didn't notice any gains. Spend your money on 1.6 roll rockers or something that will help your upper rpms.

Lose all the LG4 stuff. Put a better carb and a non-ECM distributor on it. You might be really surprised.

Also, if you are using the cam that came in the motor, I believe it's the .390/.410 POS that was partially responsible for 350s making the incredible sum of 165 HP in the 70s. Ditch it and get something real. Here's a good example.
