How are Integrated Brake Light Supposed to behave?

Hey guys,

I am rewiring my car with a Painless Wiring Harness and I came to the taillights. I hooked everything up but I am not sure if my tails are working correctly.

Here's what happens, when I have the brake pedal pressed and a turn signal on, the side that is blinkins ON and OFF completely instead of dimming. I was under the impression that when both the brake and the turn signal are on, the turn signal is only supposed to get dimmer and brighter, not completely turn off. Can somebody please clear this up for me.

Thanks,
-Max

The tail light filament is supposed to stay on, period; whether the brakes are on, or the turn signals are on, or the hazards are on.

Sounds like maybe you have a Camaro harness (separate turn signals from the brake lights, in a yellow lens even) rather than a Firebird one (turn signals and brake lights use the same red bulb).
