solved the no spark problem!!!
solved the no spark problem!!!
ok putting mass air tunedport on my 57 chevy from 86 iroc...had no spark replaced everything!!!! no spark..after 3 weeks and 12 calls to painless wiring..i finally got it..........on the iroc harness going into the distributor bat+ tach terminals i clipped this for my 57 wired it in..no problem right WRONG!!!!!!!!!
there is a small resistor going to each term.. bat to tach....even tho it showed 12 volt going into the coil the 12 volts must have been grounding out....somewhere?? (no tach was hooked up?) clipped it out..instant spark fired right up!!! life is good again...just buttoniing up loose ends sounds healthy cant wait to road test...then to the track!!!
thanks to all who tried to help...and vader

this wasnt a wire it is a resistor of some sort that goes from tach to bat. at the cap once i cut that out no problem!! it was on a 86 iroc ? what its function was is unknown to me.
