i need air condition help ASAP!!

im in the middle of working on my car right now and im taking out the air conditioner condensor. my question is what is the line coming from the canister (where the freon is) going to the condensor ( the one w/ oil in it)? that line also has some kind of sensor connected to it if that helps any. i need to know what that line is because i don't know if i have to plug it or not. thanks

Need more info. Is the "canister" close to the firewall?

That "sensor" is a high pressure switch. If you cut it out and do nothing with the wiring, the electric cooling fan will operate continuously whenever the ignition is ON.

The silver canister is the accumulator and the switch is the low pressure switch. The line leaving the accumulator will go to the compressor. Are you permanently ditching the A/C or are you just removing it temporarily? Does the system still have freon in it?

no, the system doesn't have freon in it. i want to take the ac compressor out cuz i don't need it but it doesn't look like i'll be able to till i get time to get another serp. belt. i already took the condessor out and the lines that were going to it i just left unplugged...that won't hurt anything will it?

The reason you want to plug the lines is to keep atmosphere (moisture, etc.) out. If you're not gonna be using the A/C anymore don't worry about it.
