thoughts on main bearing spacers
hello,
Now the GM makes a crate 383, the have this really nice forged crank that they put in, and you can also buy as a single part. the stroke is 3.800" but has 350 mains.
I currently have a 400 block, and i was thinking of using this particular crankshaft, but that would mean i need some bearing spacers.
what is everybody's thought of spacers? and how are they installed? are they welded in?

You can get a a different crank with the 400 main of 2.65". The GM 383HT I believe is a forged cola crank, and costs $1400 from GM. You could find a different crank for cheaper, and wouldn't need custom pistons. Maybe a 3.875" crank!
