Fuel Gauge Problems
Fuel Gauge Problems
Hi, for the past few months, I've noticed that my fuel gauge isn't working right. Everytime I come to a stop, it moves drastically in one direction like 1/4 of the way, and then when i start going again it moves back the other way. I took it to be fixed, where they put in a new sending unit...it is still the way it was. I'm positive that it's not repaired properly, because whenever you turn the ignition off, all the gauges go back to the left, but the fuel gauge remains in the spot it was when the car is running. What could this be? I'm getting annoyed because I don't know which reading is accurate.
Could it be something electrical maybe? Thanks.

Hey I'm from LI to.
anyway when you fill the tank does the needle go to straight up 12 like a clock? then what it gets low it starts to bounce around?
if so im pretty sure that is it the sending part on the gas tank its self. Mine does the same thing and this is what I have be told.
Whats the part you fixed the sending unit on the gas tank?

no it doesn't go all the way up like you describe, when i fill it up it goes a little bit past the "full" mark, like at a 3:30, 4 o'clock position. I had the sending unit replaced.
