random starting problems
it will only happen eveyr once in a while, but sometimes my car wont start.
-if i turn the key, nothing will happen.
-if i hit my starter button (rigged to positive and starter wire), it will turn over buyt wont start
-if i do that with starter fluid in the TB, it will run for a fgew seconds then die
-already bypassed VATS system with a resistor, so i dont think its that. checked the resistor and its still in place.
-only happens every once in a while. if i let it sit for a few hours, it will start right up.
ANY IDEAS?!?!?!?

It's definatly VATS. Check over the wires more carefully.... Maybe the ECM... But VATS controls the starter enable relay (under dash, drivers side) and also if the FI's fire.

If it is that relay, you'll have a problem finding it in most parts stores computers. All it is though, is a basic fuel pump relay. Take your old relay just to make sre
i agree, its gotta be VATS. the resistor is fine, but it may be farther in than that.FI are not firing. where is VATS nodule located? also, my car has NEVER cut out while driving, and the security light just stays on, it doesnt flash like usual.

Well, if the check engine light stays on, normally that means there is a code stored. Check it real fast a with a paper clip and see what the code is.
well, let me explain it. i had a problem several months ago with VATS, so i hooked up a resistor since it wasnt reading the pill. i guess it decided to read the pill recently, so it was getting 680 ohms form the resistor plus 680 from the pill. knocked the pill out, car fired right up.
