i put a 350 in my 84 Z and i ditched all the computer crap (vacuum advance dist, edelbrock carb) and was wondering how to go about taking out the whole computer and wiring harness. Are there any wires on the computer wiring harness that go to the hei distributor, starter, or that are used for temp guages / oil pressure guages, or can i just rip the whole harness out and not have to worry about anything?

 

If I were you I would leave the wiring harness in it unless you want to go through and search for all the wiring that is associated with the ECM and how it is "tied" into all the sensors..........look at a Chiltons manual and follow the wiring diagrams. You'll get the answers you are looking for in there.
