Late model manifold, early style heads

Late model manifold, early style heads
I have a set of trick flow heads I am going to use on my new engine. Has anyone actually done the "slotting" of the center two bolt holes to install a late model (87+) manifold on early style heads? What is involved? Thanks.

You can do it with a dremel tool with a stone bit or wit a drill and a drill bit.The dremel tool makes it alot easier to elongae the hole.

Axle/Gears: 3.73 Moser 12-bolt
Yup! I did it with a circular file and a die grinder. I used the die grinder to make the coarse cuts, then used the circular file for the final finish-work.
Actually, I adapted an early style intake to late-model heads.
Worked like a charm.
