Motor Mount problems

I recently purchased the energy suspension mounts for my 86 camaro and installed them onto the frame with the engine was out of the car. The installation was very difficult and seemed as if the polyurethane mounts did not want to fit back into the bracket. I posted here asking about it and every seemed to say, just force it shut and onto the frame.

However, now that I attempting to reinstall the engine the engine mount brackets don't seems to want to go back over the new mounts. Did I need to purchase different brackets for the mounts or is it possible I have the wrong type of mounts?

Do the motor mounts on Camaros look like this:

Because the insert I have is much larger.

It is possible that you got the engine mount inserts in the wrong way round. If you do the cradle will not fit over it.

Let me know if you want a photo.

Didn't see your pic there!
Yes that is what they look like. You probably have the wrong one.

When I put in the new mount between the shell it is a tight fit. It is not supposed to move loosely.

Also if I remember correctly the mount can be put in wrong. Look at the metal ends that stick out of the new mount in your photo. They need be turned so they are in the right direction and fit with the engine bracket.

I don't see anything wrong, with the exception the new mount maybe backwards in the shell.
