Car won't crank
I have a 1992 z28 with the 350 TPI. The other day I was going down the road and it starting running rough and then died. I managed to get it cranked up and loped it home. I haven't had the car long and planned on doing some things to it. No big mods.I thought after I went through it my problem would go away, but I was wrong. Anyway here it goes. I've changed the plugs, put on a Blue streak brass cap and rotor, MSD 8.5 wires, an adjustable fuel pressure reg, replaced header gaskets. I've had my ignition module checked at Autozone, they said it was fine. I checked my pick-up coil and it checked out good. I replaced o-rings in the fuel rail and injectors. Fuel reg. is set at about 50 psi. The car will turn over and sometimes make a good effort to bust off but never does. I took my computer out to make sure the plugs were in good and found out it has a Hypertech chip in it I didn't know it had. I took my #1 plug wire off and put in an old plug and grounded it and turned the car over. The spark was not that great. It wasn't the strong blue spark I thought I'd see.Anybody know anything I haven't checked?
if you have a weak spark by checking with an old plug you don't have enough spark to light of the A/F mixture under compression. a strong spark would jump an inch gap pretty easy. i'd go back and recheck all the ignition parts.
