What starter fits with what?

Hey I wanna get rid of my 200C tranny soon, and I got some q's about the starter. The engine is an LG4 with a 2 piece rear main seal. Will it fit a 700R4 without grinding down the bellhousing, or is an aftermarker one needed?

Also, will a T-56 or t-5 needed mods for this starter to work?

It all depends on the number of teeth on the flywheel/flexplate. For your cars, you most then likely have a 153 tooth flexplate. For a T5 you generally need a different starter with a smaller nosecone. Although if you put the tranny in with the starter already one then it will still fit. If you ever try to remove and reinstall the starter then it wont fit in the bellhousing anymore.

But the starter you have now should fit a 700R4 no problem.
