valve adjustments...

ok so ive heard 1/4 a turn after the clicking stops, then ive heard 1/2.....so which is it????????with the engine running i mean

Factory specs across the years were 1/2, 5/8, and 1 turn after zero lash, depending on the cam profiles and intended engine use. For higher RPM use, I tend to go a little on the lighter side. For a factory "LA" cam, 1 turn is probably acceptable. That puts you about halfway into the plunger travel in the lifter body, and will prevent you from having to adjust them again for a long time.

ok well, i did half a turn to be safe....i wasnt sure i f the lkt1 cam would hold 3/4 or one full turn....well, didnt know if the lift was that much greater, didnt wanna bend a valve...and i refuse to take the valve cover off the pass side again lol, all that smog crap....*** thats a PITA!!!
