CAM degrees

I'm about to reinstall a cam (LT1 cam in a 305)... what cam timing should I use ?... should it be at 0 degrees for a daily driver ?... what are the consequences of retarding the cam degrees (i've heard that this adds power, because of duration ??) ANY advice would be great.. thanks in advance :hail:

i'd install it straight up .i'd have to look to be sure, but i think advanced gives more torque and retarded gives more HP.
