Well, since he has a B&M shift kit, I'd guess it's an auto . With my L98, I shifted at 5500 1/2 shift, and 5200 on the 2/3 shift. That's what I got the best results with.

Sparks a flyin'.

I dunno if I would try to shift a 305 at 5500 RPM. I let my transmission shift for itself, and it kicks in somewhere around 4700 -4800 rpm. At that point the 305 is starting to sound a bit hairy, and it doesnt bother me, cause past 4500 rpm, it revs, but it doesnt really pull anymore. I wonder sometimes if it wouldnt be faster if if ****ed at 4500.

I suppose the asteriks are the server's not so subtle way of tell me I mispelled 'shifted'

Mine does have 102k miles on it, but still. a 305 isnt exactly known for revving like a fiend

also stated he wanted to know if he should leave it in d. never seen d on a stick camaro. the camaro's i've driven with 305's and stock cams were normally quicker in drive than manually shifted. but i don't know your car as well as you do either.
