Do I pull the AIR pump or not?
I am at a dilema, Florida just got rid of the e-check. I am getting ready to install
1 5/8 SLP headers on the 89RSconvtZZ4TPI. This is the wifes daily driver. I will probably use the new belt routing shown in one of the tech articles. Is there any downside to removing the pump? Will it affect any other aspect of the car by removing it? I was just looking at how much room it would open up in the engine bay.
Opinions please...

i have nothing but good things to say about it
removing the AIR stuff was the best thing i did to make the engine compartment look better
dont forget to reinstall the top bolt though, it serves to hold the bracket

Pablo, did you reroute the belt as shown in the Tech article or did you do something different?

Rob,
Remove the pump. I used the belt routing and the belt length specified in the tech article. It's been this way for over a year. There are no ill effects. I rev the car to 6500 so the 'belt throwing' idea is crap. Definitely pull it - you'll love having the extra room over the passenger side valve cover.
