OUT OF SERVICE please please help!!!!

my hydraulic clutch is dead. i'm certain that it is the slave cylinder that is bad. do i need to buy the clutch assembly as a hole, or can i just replace the slave? i've heard it both ways, and i need to know so i can drive my car to work today. thanks

You can rebuild or replace the slave cylinder. Don't forget to bleed the system once the cylinder is replaced.

Since the system is relatively small and the slave is mounted below the master cylinder, it will tend to bleed itself when the clutch pedal is relaxed. You can bleed excess air from the slave by loosening the hose fitting while the system is under pressure. The process is similar to a brake bleeding procedure. Monitor reservoir fluid level for a couple of days to keep the correct level as the last of the air purges itself.

i've replaced the slave cylinder and i am trying to bleed the system. the pedal has very little resistance, does this have anything to do with bleeding it, or is there something else wrong?
