yes, i did convert to auto. the gauges are auto-meter pro-comps. electric gauges. summit part numbers tach- atm-5160, speedo- atm-5154, water temp- atm-5437, oil pressure- atm-5427, fuel level- atm-5415. they are fairly easy to put in, but it was hard for me because i had to figure it out myself. i can give instructions to people though.

I installed mine back in '97... no problems with the installation. People seem to have all kinds of problems when they don't follow the direction sheet... especially when adjusting the shift lever at the transmission. It's a pain, you have to get in/out of the car and shift over and over again, and I think that's why people don't bother with it.

Anyway, only big problem I had was the shift cable itself. Last year, the car wouldn't go into park. The shifter would, but the trans wouldn't. The adjustment at the shift lever was correct, too. So, I bought a new cable.

When I took the old one off, I twisted it in a loop just like as if it was on the car, and tried to work it by hand. I couldn't!! The cable wouldn't budge! I looped the new one in a similar loop, and I could work it easily by hand. I guess the lining wore out after 5 years of use. When I put the new cable in, everything was fine again.

Oh and follow the directions and wire up the Radio Shack relay as B&M asks. A lot of people ignore that step, too, and wonder why their car won't start.
